This article plugs into an ordinary socket. Nothing needs to be wired, and nothing needs an electrician.

About this one
Two independently switched heads on one base, each on its own arm. Run one for reading and both when you want the whole corner lit — 350 lm per head, 700 lm together.
Each head takes its own E14 bulb, so you can put a warmer one in the reading head if you want to.
